U.S. backs Kazakhstan's WTO membership
The United States supports Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry made the remark after meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrisov in New York.
"Secretary of State Kerry expressed strong support for Kazakhstan's joining to the WTO," a State Department official told reporters, RIA Novosti reported.
The US also supports the "sovereignty, territorial integrity and the growing leadership of Kazakhstan on the world stage," Kerry said.
Kerry and Idrisov also discussed the strategic partnership and cooperation in addressing regional and global issues, the source said.
The meeting was held in New York on September 22 on the sidelines of UN General Assembly.
