Turkmenistan’s foreign trade exceeds $21 bln

Turkmenistan's foreign trade turnover has exceeded $21 billion since early 2014.

The news was announced by Turkmen Economy and Development Ministry on September 19, Trend Agency reported.

The main exporting countries are Iran, Russia, China, Georgia, Italy, Turkey, Afghanistan and others.

The dominant importing countries are Turkey, China, Russia, United Arab Emirates, Iran, France and Germany.

The share of oil and oil products, gas, vegetable oil, textile, cotton fabric and other goods is huge among the country's exporting products.

Turkmenistan remains the largest exporter of natural gas in Central Asia. The country plans to achieve the most intensive growth rates in the chemical, textile, food industries, production of construction materials, agriculture.

The volume of investments attracted to Turkmenistan in the first 11 months of 2013 exceeded $41 billion, and this figure was 7.2 percent more compared to the same period of 2012.

The GDP growth rate amounted to 10.1 percent. Foreign trade turnover also increased and amounted to $28.4 billion.
