The European Union (EU) will set a new budgetary support program for Kyrgyzstan by allocating 30 million euros for this purpose.

The program is aimed at implementing reforms at the governmental levels. The funds will be included in the new social protection strategy for 2015-2017, local media quoted an EU Delegation in Kyrgyzstan on September 11.

Also, the EU has set the conditions for the allocation of 5 million euros within the program of the implementation of state social protection strategy for 2012-2014.

In total, the EU plans to allocate 13 million euros within this program, which is aimed at improving the life quality of the most vulnerable part of the population.

The decision to allocate 5 million euros is expected to be made by the end of the year.

The EU continues to support state budget of Kyrgyzstan with this contribution under the Sector Policy Support Program, providing grant resources since 1996.

Last year, EU disbursed 5 million euros to Kyrgyzstan's state budget within the "Sector Policy Support Program, Social Sector - Kyrgyzstan 2012-2014".

Bilateral relations between Kyrgyzstan and the EU have been based on the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement since 1999.

The EU and Kyrgyzstan also cooperate based on a regional approach which includes all five Central Asian republics: the EU and Central Asia Strategy for a New Partnership (2007).

In April, 2013, the EU said it has allocated 4.5 million euros since 2011 to support a program on the prevention of conflicts and peace building in Kyrgyzstan.
