CoE Secretary General to attend Global Youth Forum in Baku
The Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjorn Jagland, will attend the First Global Forum on Youth Policies in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan on October 28-30.
More than 700 participants are expected to join the forum jointly organized by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Council of Europe, UNESCO, UN Office of the Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth and the government of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Youth and Sports ministry reported.
Around 4,705 youth applicants from 174 countries showed interest in participation and 200 of them have been selected to attend the forum. Overall 200 governmental officials will be either in minister or deputy minister level.
Around 200 NGOs' representatives will take part at the Global Forum in Baku. It is expected that 100 experts on youth policies will contribute to the work of the forum.
The organization of regional meetings and development the exchange programs will be among the main issues at the forum.
