Iran urges P5+1 not to raise issues outside nuclear framework

By Sara Rajabova

A senior Iranian diplomat has called on six world powers engaged in talks with Iran not to raise any issue outside the framework of the nuclear negotiations.

Iran's deputy foreign minister for Europe and Americas Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi said on September 10 that P5+1 should negotiate within the framework of nuclear talks and discuss only the issues included in that framework, Press TV reported.

He added that a permanent accord is possible ahead of the November 24 deadline should the six powers - the United States, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany - "be really interested in resolving the issue."

Takht-e-Ravanchi surther said Tehran envisages a "win-win" deal with the world powers.

Some Western officials have called for Iran's missile program to be included in the nuclear talks with the six countries. However, the Iranian officials said Islamic Republic's missile power is not up for debate in the nuclear talks.

Iran and the world powers are to hold a new round of negotiations in New York on September 18.

Iran and the six countries signed an interim deal in Geneva last November, which took effect on January 20 and expired six months later on July 20. The two sides have agreed to extend negotiations until November 24.
