Turkmenistan, Turkey back constructive partnership

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Turkish President Abdullah Gul noted that there is a constructive inter-state partnership between Turkmenistan and Turkey, the Turkmen government reported.

The telephone conversation was initiated by Abdullah Gul, whose term in office is to end on August 28,

The two sides expressed the need for further improvement of cooperation in order to maximize the available impressive resource and economic potential.

The presidents also noted that "the Turkmen and Turkish people have always cherished their relationships which largely determine the confidential and mutually beneficial cooperation in a new historical era built on a long and mutually beneficial basis."

Turkey is one of the largest trade partners of Turkmenistan. There are more than 600
Turkish companies on the local market. Earlier it was reported that on the results of 2013 the trade turnover between the countries amounted to about $4.746 billion, which is 38 percent more compared to 2012.
