Azerbaijan invests about $90 mln in Georgia

Azerbaijan has invested $89.9 million in Georgia in 2013.
Georgia's National Statistics Office (GeoStat) reports that
according to the specified data Azerbaijan ranked fourth among the
largest investors of Georgia in 2013.
The Netherlands ranks first in foreign direct investments (FDIs)
with a 16 percent share in the total foreign investments in the
Georgian economy. It is followed by Luxembourg (a 15 percent share)
and China (a 10 percent share).
The shares of Georgia's largest investors in total foreign
capital investments stood at 82 percent.
The specified data shows, the total FDIs in Georgia were $942
million in 2013, or three percent more than the expectations, and
3.3 percent more than in 2012.
Last year, the reinvestments amounted to 29 percent of the FDIs.
Azerbaijani companies invest in infrastructure, energy, industrial and transport sector, as well as construction and tourism sectors in Georgia.
In the first quarter of 2014, Azerbaijan has invested $47 million in Georgia, which is the second highest figure among the major investors of Georgia for the period.
