Turkmenistan invites Sony to participate in local projects

Turkmenistan has invited the Japanese Sony Corporation to participate in local projects in the country.

The invitation was made by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov at a meeting with Executive Vice President and Corporate Executive Officer of Sony Corporation Shoji Nemoto, local media reported.

During the meeting, Berdymukhamedov said the innovative and cutting-edge products of Sony have affected not only the rapid development of the Japanese economy, but also guaranteed the quality and reliability of its brand.

Nemoto, in turn, announced the intention of Japanese business circle to establish long-term contacts with dynamically developing Turkmenistan.

He also stated his company's desire to expand its presence in the promising Turkmen market.

The Turkmen-Japanese cooperation is seen as an important element in development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Asia-Pacific region as a whole. To this end, the two countries are seeking to use their geopolitical and geo-economic advantages.

Turkmenistan is considering the opportunities available for Japanese companies in joint investment projects in petrochemical, gas processing, electro-technical, and other industrial sectors.

Japan's high technologies and Turkmenistan's rich natural resources are complementary, business circles in Tokyo believe.
