Georgia, U.S. mull defense co-op

Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania held meeting with Commanding General of U.S. Army Europe, Lieutenant General Donald Campbell.
The U.S. General pays a visit to Georgia within the 8th Annual Conference of European Armies for Noncommissioned Officers, the ministry reported.
The sides discussed bilateral defense cooperation issues between Georgia and the U.S.
Alasania expressed gratitude for the U.S. support aimed at strengthening Georgia's defense capabilities and enhancing NATO interoperability.
Alasania informed Campbell about the ongoing reforms in Georgian defense sphere. Alasania outlined main achievements through defense transformation process, including NATO BI, improvement of the conditions for military servicemen and wounded warrior treatment/ rehabilitation capacities.
Georgia's participation in ISAF mission and engagement in Resolute Support mission beyond 2014 were one of the main topics of the discussion.
