European Commission praises Georgia’s progress towards EU integration

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with President of European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso in Brussels on May 21.
During the meeting the main focus was on the issues of signing the Association Agreement between EU and Georgia, which scheduled for June 27, the prime-minister's press service reported.
Besides, the issues such as the process of Georgia's Euro integration and progress achieved on this road were emphasized.
The sides discussed current reforms of Georgia, measures taken for ensuring democratic institutions and rule of law by the Georgian Government with the European Commissioner.
The parties also emphasized the progress achieved in implementation of the action plan of liberalization of visa regime.
The sides also discussed the details of Barroso's visit to Georgia scheduled for June 13.
