Georgia sees increase in foreign trade turnover

Georgia's foreign trade turnover increased by 18 percent in January-March 2014, the National Statistics Office reported on April 16.
The foreign trade turnover amounted to $ 2,523 billion (preliminary data) in the first quarter of 2014.
The value of export grew by 23 percent reaching $696 million, while the import grew by 16 percent and amounted to $1,827 billion compared to the same period of 2013.
The trade deficit hit $1,131 billion and its share in trade turnover constituted 45 percent.
