EU parliamentarians hail acceleration of signing Georgia-EU agreement

The European Union (EU) parliaments' speakers welcomed the acceleration of the signing of the association agreement between Georgia and the EU.
Parliamentary speakers made the remarks in the final document of
the Vilnus Conference of the Speakers of European Union
Parliaments.
The document consists of 54 points, five of which are related with
the events in Ukraine. It stated that the conference participants
support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and condemn the
actions of Russia.
Georgian Parliamentary Speaker David Usupashvili also participated
in the two-day conference.
Georgia initialed association agreement with the EU at the Vilnius summit dedicated to the European Union's 'Eastern Partnership' countries - ex-Soviet states on November 29, 2013. The signing of the Association Agreement is scheduled for August 2014.
Georgian State Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alexi Petriashvili recently said the association agreement with the EU will be signed by June.
"We are pleased that the agreement will be signed no later than June. However, I do not rule out that the signing will further be accelerated," he told journalists.
