Turkmenistan to perform flights to new destinations

Turkmenistan will start direct flights to Malaysia, Vietnam, Canada, local Turkmen media reported on March 27.

The Turkmenistan Airlines, the country's national air carrier will start flights to the cities of Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh and Toronto.

"It is planned to start flights to the cities of Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh and Toronto after receiving Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft", the report said.

The country's national fleet recently obtained this type of airliner delivered by the Boeing Corporation as part of a contract concluded in 2011. Such aircraft can accommodate up to 300 passengers or more.

The flight range is about 15,500 kilometers. The Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft is capable of making the longest non-stop passenger flights in the world. Some 21,601 kilometers is a record.

The passengers can use GSM-communication and Wi-Fi on board as well.

Turkmenistan is expanding its range of flights. New passenger flights from Ashgabat to Paris were opened in 2013.

Turkmenistan Airlines also performs regular flights to Abu Dhabi, Amritsar, Almaty, Bangkok, Birmingham, Delhi, Dubai, Kiev, London, Moscow, Minsk, Beijing, Istanbul, St Petersburg, Frankfurt and other cities.
