Kazatomprom to expand into African market

NAC Kazatomprom JSC is to enter the African market, advisor to the chairman and project manager KazPV Azat Betekbayev said on March 27.

He made the remarks during the international solar energy conference and exhibition (AfricaPVSEC) in Durban (Republic of South Africa).

As the company said, experts and leading manufacturers of the world in the field of renewable energy will discuss photovoltaic, solar, and thermal systems, production, distribution, economy and energy conservation, and research and development at the AfricaPVSEC conference.

An exhibition will also be held within AfricaPVSEC, where, along with well-known international brands, the KazPV project belonging to NAC Kazatomprom JSC will be demonstrated.

The purpose of the trip is promoting and expanding the sales market, accessing the promising PV market in Africa, and searching for business partners and attracting investors, Betekbaev said.

AfricaPVSEC is a new initiative partnering EU PVSEC and SNEC for promotion and exchanges in the photovoltaic solar energy sector, and brings together leading experts, researchers, public authorities, representatives of international organizations, donors, and NGOs. AfricaPVSEC will last three days.

Kazatomprom NAC JSC is a national operator in Kazakhstan carrying out the export of uranium and its compounds, rare metals, nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants, special equipment, dual-use technology, and materials.

The basic direction of company's activity includes geological exploration, uranium production, production of nuclear fuel cycle products, production of construction materials, energetics, science, social security, and personal training.

Kazatomprom is an active participant in the Program for Development of Renewable Energy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
