The United States of America will continue to assist Georgia.

"The U.S. will continue to assist Georgia's efforts in strengthen democratic institutions and progress toward further Euro-Atlantic integration and support its sovereignty and territorial integrity", President Barack Obama said in his official congratulation letter to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

The letter was handed to Garibashvili at the meeting with Victoria Nuland, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs on December 6.

Irakli Garibashvili was appointed as a Prime Minister of Georgia on November 21.

"The United States and Georgia enjoy a strong special partnership based on the full range of our shared interests. We appreciate, in particular, Georgia's significant contributions and sacrifices made in support of our collective efforts in Afghanistan," Obama said.
