Georgian-Turkish project on power line for exports to be completed soon
The Georgian-Turkish project on electrical line construction for exports abroad will be completed soon.
Georgian Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze told the media on May 15 that the Georgian side has already completed its section of power transmission line and is waiting for Turkey to catch up.
"The matter rests in a 500-kilovolt power transmission line," he said. "It will be possible to transfer 1,000 - 1,200 megawatts of electricity over the border."
He added that there must be regulations and rules as in the developed European countries.
"A memorandum was signed with USAID," he said. "This agency helps us in the implementation of energy projects."
