Kazakhstan's industrial output records growth

The volume of industrial production in Kazakhstan in January 2018 increased by 5.2 percent compared to the corresponding month of 2017, the Committee on Statistics of the Kazakh National Economy Ministry reported.

In the reporting period, mining and quarrying indicators increased by 4.5 percent, manufacturing - by 6.2 percent, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 6.4 percent.

The extraction of crude oil, natural gas and iron ore increased compared to January 2017. The production of foodstuffs, beverages, rubber and plastic, as well as products of the chemical, pharmaceutical, metallurgical and machine building industries has increased.

At the same time coal and lignite mining, extraction of non-ferrous metal ores, production of tobacco products and light industry showed a decrease.

In particular, the volume of oil production, including gas condensate, amounted to 7.6 million tons (an increase of 7 percent compared to the same period last year), copper ore - 7.3 million tons (3.3 percent).

The volume of gasoline output stood at the level of 0.3 million tons (- 4.6 percent), and gasoil - 0.4 million tons (-7.8 percent). The volume of flat steel production reached 0.3 million tons (+ 38.3 percent), refined copper - 0.04 million tons (+ 11.1 percent), Portland cement - 0.3 million tons (+ 17.7 percent), electricity - 10.4 billion kWh (+ 12.7 percent) and flour - 0.3 million tons (+ 11.7 percent).

The increase in the volume of production of industrial products was observed in 11 regions of the republic.

Currently, Kazakhstan's manufacturing products are exported to 110 countries and new markets are being opened.
