The Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Trade recently hosted the meeting with Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergey Levin during which the sides discussed certain aspects of agricultural sphere, trade ties and economic relationship between the two states.

The talks focused on the issues of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation, including by organizing long-term supplies of fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products to the Russian market within the framework of the Green Corridor established between the two countries.

In particular, the potential of increasing the export volumes of Uzbek fruit and vegetable products by 2-3 times was highlighted.

In turn, Levin noted that the meetings at the highest level in April 2017 gave new impetus to the multifaceted cooperation between the Uzbekistan and Russia, including in the field of agriculture, the press service of the ministry reported.

In addition, within the framework of the meeting, the Russian side held a presentation of the city of Yekaterinburg as a candidate for the international exhibition EXPO-2025.

Meanwhile, about 20 Uzbek companies presented their products at the 25th International Exhibition of Food, Beverages and Raw Materials for their production at ProdExpo-2018 held in Moscow.

The largest international forum in Russia and Eastern Europe is the most authoritative annual event in the field of food and beverages (including alcohol) and for more than 25 years determines the development of the Russian food industry.

Over the years, the mega-project, Prodexpo, has played an important role in the process of forming and developing the food sector of the Russian economy.

Attracting producers from all over the world, the exhibition project practically forms an export basket of large retail chains in Russia.

The exhibition traditionally unites the best producers from all over the world. This year 2300 companies from 63 countries came here to find new partners, demonstrating not only ready-made food products, but also the latest technological solutions for their production.
