Turkish Economy Ministry talks operation in Syria’s Afrin
By Trend
Holding a military operation against terrorists of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in Syria’s Afrin city won’t affect Turkey’s economy, the country’s Economy Ministry told Trend on January 22.
The economy of Turkey has strong foundations, the ministry said, adding that the military operation will soon be successfully completed.
The operation is necessary to ensure the security of borders and citizens of Turkey, the ministry noted.
On January 20, the Turkish Armed Forces, together with the Free Syrian Army, launched a military Operation Olive Branch in the Syrian city of Afrin.
F-16 fighter planes of the Turkish Air Force, which are inflicting air strikes on the positions of PYD on the Syrian-Turkish border, are involved in the operation.
