Mali appoints new ambassador to Turkmenistan

The meeting with the new Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Mali in Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow) Tiyefing Konate took place in Ashgabat, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a message on November 13.

The Ambassador presented copies of his credentials.

During the talks, the sides discussed issues of mutual interest.

"During the consideration of the prospects for cooperation in various fields, the parties expressed their commitment to the development of cooperation in the political and diplomatic sphere, as well as within the framework of international organizations," said in a message.

Discussing the trade and economic cooperation bloc, the sides noted the need to expand the legal framework between the two countries and agreed to consider the possibilities for intensifying contacts between the business structures of the two countries.

They also voiced mutual interest in the development of relations in the fields of culture and sport, as well as between the scientific circles of the two countries.

Noting the focus on fruitful and effective cooperation, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to render all assistance and support to the Ambassador's activities in the expansion of the Turkmen-Malian relations.
