Uzbekistan to set up bank consortium to support home-based jobs

The consortium for supporting home-based jobs will be created by Uzbek commercial banks, according to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decree.

According to the decree "On measures to create additional favorable conditions for the further development of home-based jobs", the authorized capital of the consortium will reach 50 billion soums.

The consortium will allocate loans to home-based workers and enterprise customers of home-based products for acquiring modern machinery, equipment.

It will be possible to get loans for the further production of confectionery, bakery, knitwear, haberdashery items, sewing products and furniture, repair and maintenance of electro-technical products, as well as gardening services.

The structural units of the consortium will assist home workers in marketing and finding customers for organizing of production.

Moreover, according to the presidential decree, a fixed tax rate of 7.5 percent will be set for home workers from July 1, 2017.

The consortium will be exempted from paying all taxes.
