Astana, Warsaw to launch direct airline route

LOT Polish Airlines Company will launch a new airline route between the capitals of Kazakhstan and Poland as of early May 2017, Kazakh Investment and Development Ministry reported on January 26.

This will be the very first direct flight between Astana and Warsaw.

A corresponding agreement was signed between Kazakhstan Civil Aviation Committee and Polish aviation authorities within the framework of the 9th Annual International Aviation Organizations Air Services Negotiation Conference (ICAN) held in December 2016.

The agreement between the aviation authorities of two countries also envisages possibility of direct flights between Kazakh city of Almaty and Warsaw.

The flight will be launched on the eve of EXPO-2017 international exhibition in Astana. LOT Polish Airlines will operate 4 regular flights per week on Warsaw - Astana - Warsaw route.

The main theme of EXPO 2017 Astana International is “Future Energy” and it includes the following issues: reduction of CO2 emission, living in accordance with the principles of energy efficiency, energy for everyone.

Over 100 countries and organizations will participate in EXPO 2017 Astana, and they will present their interpretations of its main theme. Their achievements in the fields of science, advanced technologies, management, innovative business models and changes in social attitudes will be presented.
