The Central Banks of Iran and Turkey signed a memorandum of understanding to boost banking cooperation, the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) reported on January 26.

The deal was undersigned by Mahmoud Yagoubi, deputy governor of CBI and Mehmet Taskin, deputy executive director at Central Bank of Turkey on the sidelines of the Iran-Turkey joint banking committee’s first session in Tehran on January 25.

During the meeting the two parties discussed settling the obstacles of
expanding banking ties, integrating the two countries' payment systems
