New chairman appointed in Turkmengas

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has decreed to appoint Maksat Babayev as the chairman of the Turkmengas State Concern.
Babayev previously served as the deputy chairman in Turkmengas.
Turkmenistan is currently eyeing to construct a pipeline to deliver its gas to Europe through the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as to build an additional gas pipeline to Russia.
Turkmenistan is one of the key suppliers of natural gas in the Caspian region and it exports gas to China and Iran.
Turkmengas carries out the development of gas and gas condensate fields, production of gas and gas condensate, processing of natural gas, as well as transportation of gas, gas condensate and liquefied gas.
