New interior minister appointed in Uzbekistan

Abdusalom Azizov has been appointed to the post of interior minister upon Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decree, a representative of the country’s presidential administration told Trend January 4.
Before the appointment, Azizov worked as the head of the interior department in the country’s Jizzakh region since 2010.
Adham Ahmadbayev, who has served as the country’s interior minister since December 2013, was appointed state adviser to the president on work with law-enforcement agencies.
