One of the main tasks is to ensure the population's social protection by taking measures to increase the salaries, pensions and scholarships (by no less than 10 percent).

The investment program for 2017 envisages construction of around 400 facilities, including 270 production and 130 social facilities. It is planned to make the major part of investments in construction of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.

Reportedly, in 2017, the country will focus on development of power industry, reconstruction of power plants and construction of new ones and this will make it possible to increase the volume of electricity supply to neighboring countries and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to domestic consumers.

When coming to chemical industry, Berdimuhamedov emphasized the necessity of making large volumes of investments in construction of a mining and processing complex for production of potash fertilizers in Garlyk village of Lebap province and a carbamide plant in Garabogaz village of Balkan province.
