SOCAR plans to expand gas station network in Switzerland

Azerbaijan’s state-owned energy company SOCAR intends to continue expansion of its gas station network in Switzerland.

SOCAR Energy Switzerland reported that the company will continue to implement its strategy on expansion of its gas station network through obtaining new facilities, as well as negotiations with the independent gas station owners on joining SOCAR brand.

Following the success SOCAR achieved so far, the company plans to expand its gas station network in all regions of Switzerland with the ultimate goal of integrating into the global chain of SOCAR values, thereby maximizing its contribution to the development of the parent company and the GDP of Azerbaijan, the company said.

The company also enjoys fruitful partnership with Migrolino, which is the largest supermarket chain in Switzerland. Migrolino shops function in 54 gas stations of SOCAR in Switzerland and this partnership allows to increase the efficiency of the gas station network.

Currently, SOCAR owns 158 gas stations in Switzerland. Besides, the company owns gas station network in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Romania.

SOCAR is the only producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. The company is keen on expanding its operations worldwide.

The company is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, marketing petroleum and petrochemical products in the domestic and international markets, and supplying natural gas to the domestic market of Azerbaijan.

SOCAR exported 350 000 tons of oil products during January-March 2016 compared to 348 600 tons exported during the same period of 2015.

In addition, SOCAR exported 1.23 million tons of oil during the last year compared to 1.2 million tons exported in 2014.

SOCAR has representative offices in Georgia, Turkey, Romania, Austria, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Britain, Iran, Germany and Ukraine, and trading companies in Switzerland, Singapore, Vietnam, Nigeria, and other countries.
