SOCAR-AQS drills next well ahead of schedule
SOCAR-AQS has completed the works on construction of well 345 from stationary platform 11, with target depth of 3190 m, sucessfully, ahead of schedule, without any incidents and without harming the environment
Actual depth of the well drilled in SWG is 3203 m. The well reached its target depth in Fasila Layer, following which, production casings were run in the hole, cementing job and pressure testing performed. The well was handed over to the customer on August 27.
Despite the fact that the time for drilling of a well into
Fasila Layer, determined by the customer, is 90 days, SOCAR-AQS
managed to go far ahead of the schedule thanks to implementation in
its operations of new management methods, new technologies,
standards and new approach.
The Customer of drilling works is Azneft Production Unit.
SOCAR-AQS LLC was established as an integrated drilling and well services management company between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and Absheron Drilling Company in 2007.
Main scope of activities of the company is provision of work and services related with drilling of oil and gas wells, including: well design and planning; drilling of oil and gas wells; drilling of directionally deviated wells; drilling of horizontal wells; well completion; well workover; sidetracking and drilling of multilateral wells.
Currently, SOCAR-AQS implements works on drilling the wells from fixed platform 11 located on Shallow Water Gunashli Field, and from fixed platform 1 located on Umid Field. At the same time, the company is continuing preparatory works on drilling the wells on the West Absheron, Bulla and Gunashli 7 Fields.
The company is a contractor member of IADC since 2009. SOCAR-AQS has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 international standards for Provision of Integrated Offshore Oil & Gas Drilling and Well Services; Casing Running Services and BOP and Wellhead Equipment Repairing and Testing Services. SOCAR-AQS is conducting the work on obtaining, in the near future, of the certificate based on the requirements of API Spec Q2.
