SOCAR AQS congratulates journalists on press day
SOCAR-AQS, an integrated drilling and well services management company in Azerbaijan, held a meeting with national media outlets that cooperate closely with the company in reporting on the oil and gas sector.
The July 22 event was attended by Azerbaijani MPs and representatives of the Press Council.
Ramin Isayev, the general director of SOCAR-AQS addressed the event, welcoming guests and informing them about the company’s their activities.
Isayev mentioned that modern Azerbaijani media, which is an outgrowth of the first national newspaper titled “Ekinchi,” is developing rapidly
“Today, development of the information technologies is turning Azerbaijani media into a part of the global information network. The national media plays a big role in the promotion of national values, as well as in the development of patriotism among the young generation and provision the international community with Azerbaijan’s achievements,” he said.
Noting that such events help develop knowledge and the skills of the journalists, Isayev asserted that SOCAR-AQS will further continue to support journalists in improving their knowledge of the oil and gas field.
Later, MPs Vahid Ahmadov and Elmira Akhundova addressed the event and congratulated the journalists on the occasion of National Press Day, wishing them success.
Following the speeches, some 25 journalists actively cooperating with the company were awarded with diplomas and prizes.
SOCAR-AQS was established as an integrated drilling and well services management company between the Azerbaijan State Oil Company and Absheron Drilling Company in 2007. The main scope of activities of the company is the provision of services related to the drilling of oil and gas wells.
Currently, SOCAR-AQS is working on drilling wells from fixed platforms, some 11 of which are located on Shallow Water Guneshli Field, and one on Umid Field. At the same time, the company is laying out the foundations for drilling wells on the West Absheron, Bulla, and Guneshli 7 Fields.
The company has been a contractor member of IADC since 2009. SOCAR-AQS has been assessed and certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 international standards for the Provision of Integrated Offshore Oil & Gas Drilling and Well Services; Casing Running Services; and BOP and Wellhead Equipment Repairing and Testing Services.
