SOCAR commissions new well on Chilov field

Drilling Trust of Azerbaijan's state energy giant SOCAR has put a new well on offshore Chilov field into operation, the company said on June 18.
The drilling works on the well No 113 were conducted from the platform No 112 in the Chilov field.
"Daily production debit of the well amounts to 4,000 cubic meters of gas and 50 tons of oil," SOCAR noted.
The Chilov field is located in the south-west water area of Absheron archipelago in the same name island, and partly - in the coastal zone. The development of the began in 1948, while industrial development of the field started in 1952.
Azerbaijan's energy giant SOCAR, which is keen on expanding operations in the retail oil products market abroad is involved in exploring oil and gas fields, producing, processing, and transporting oil, gas, and gas condensate, marketing petroleum and petrochemical products in the domestic and international markets, and supplying natural gas to industry and the public in Azerbaijan.
SOCAR includes Azneft (companies producing oil and gas offshore and onshore), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and Azerigas production associations.
In 2015, SOCAR optimized the structure of its oil refining facilities and established one large enterprise on the basis of two oil refineries.
