BP eyes opportunities for salary increase
BP company will consider the opportunities for some salary increase for national employees in Azerbaijan and limited pay review funding has been approved for that purpose, BP Azerbaijan told Trend.
BP Azerbaijan was responding to Trend’s query regarding the company's global plans to freeze wages of employees in 2015.
“BP is seeking opportunities to maintain its competitiveness and increase efficiency in response to the currently challenging market environment,” said BP Azerbaijan.
“This includes the decision to temporarily freeze annual pay review process for this year worldwide – in other words, for staff worldwide we do not expect base pay to increase in 2015,” said the company. “This will apply throughout BP, although there may be a few exceptions for specific circumstances around the world.”
BP is the operator for the development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli offshore fields’ block and Shah Deniz gas condensate field in Azerbaijan.
Within the Stage 2 of the development of this field, it is planned to supply gas to Europe. The company is also participant of such pipeline projects as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and South Caucasus gas pipeline.
