SOCAR commissions new well in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan's state energy company SOCAR has commissioned a new well at Garadagh onshore field.
One of the two underground gas storage facilities of Azerbaijan is operating on the basis of Garadagh, according to the company.
Azerbaijan has two underground gas storage facilities - Garadagh and Kalmaz - both included into SOCAR's balance sheet.
SOCAR said 100,000 cubic meters of gas would be pumped daily into the storage due to the operation of new well.
During gas extraction season, the residual gas in underground storage totaled about 1.38 billion cubic meters (Garadagh, 746.43 million cubic meters and Kalmaz, about 630.6 million cubic meters).
Currently, gas injection into Azerbaijan's underground storage facilities is continuing.
Azerbaijan's underground storage facilities' capabilities allow storing over 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas.
