Chinese bank to allot $1.8bn for gas pipe construction in Kazakhstan
The ceremony of documents signing on providing of $1.8 billion
loan for Beineu-Shymkent gas pipeline construction by China
Development Bank took place in Hong Kong, Kazinform state news
agency reported referring to Kazakh KazTransGas company.
The Beineu-Shymkent gas pipeline construction is implemented by
Kazakh national company KazMunaiGas and Chinese CNPC within
bilateral intergovernmental agreement.
The loan will be provided for the period of 15 years.
The Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline, with length of 1,475 km,
will pass through Mangystau, Aktobe, Kyzylorda and South Kazakhstan
regions. It will provide Kazakhstan's south regions with the gas
producing at the fields in the western regions of the country.
The construction of the pipeline is divided into two sections:
Bozoy-Shymkent and Beineu-Bozoy. The first mechanical launch of
Beineu - Bozoi pipeline is expected in October 2013.
