SOCAR office to be built in Batumi
The groundbreaking of a new building designated for an office of the Azerbaijani state oil company SOCAR was held in Batumi, Georgia on Wednesday.
SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and Georgian Finance Minister Alexander Khetaguri lowered a capsule into the foundation of the building.
Abdullayev said Batumi is developing and turning into a city of regional importance and therefore it was decided to build a SOCAR office there.
Abdullayev's statement came a day after SOCAR started construction of a carbamide plant in Kulevi, Georgia.
"Good relations between our presidents are the basis of our successful business in Georgia and billions of investments in projects in Georgia are very promising for both sides," he said.
