SOCAR’s drilling operations up in 2016
Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR drilled 105,250 meters in 2016 against 104,410 meters drilled in 2015, says a message published on the company’s website.
In 2016, 102,532 meters out of the total drilling operations accounted for production drilling and the remaining 2,713 meters accounted for exploration drilling.
SOCAR commissioned 64 new wells in 2016.
SOCAR includes such production associations as Azneft (enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerikimya (chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributor of gas), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
