Azerbaijan, Costa Rica to jointly train diplomats

Azerbaijan and Costa Rica will cooperate in training of diplomats as ADA University under the Foreign Ministry and Costa Rica's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Religion have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, Azertag state news agency reported.

The MoU was inked by Deputy Foreign Minister, rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religion of Costa Rica Manuel Gonzalez Sanz.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Pashayev said both Costa Rica and Azerbaijan were part of developing regions.

He noted that the two countries could cooperate in a variety of areas, particularly infrastructure, education and health.

Pashayev also spoke of ADA University`s special scholarship program for foreign students. He said the university enrolls students from Latin American countries.

Following the signing ceremony, Mr Gonzalez Sanz delivered a lecture to students of ADA University, highlighting Costa Rica`s foreign policy priorities, the country`s position on global events, and his visit to Azerbaijan.

He also responded to questions from students and teachers of the university.

Founded by the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry and chartered by a presidential decree, ADA University is dedicated to training innovative global leaders and promoting useful collaborative research on diplomacy, public and international affairs, business, humanities and sciences, information technologies, and system engineering.
