Economically developing Azerbaijan will encourage scientific activities of students.

Students with high educational performance and engaged in scientific activities will be provided with nominal grants, the Education Ministry reported.

Moreover, successful students will be provided with free vouchers. This all is reflected in a provision on the research works of students of higher education institutions, approved by the Minister of Education Mikayil Jabbarov.

Under the provision, students involved in research works may be encouraged with diplomas, certificates, gifts, cash awards and free vouchers by the leadership of higher education institutions.

They will also be provided with opportunities to attend international competitions, conferences, and exhibitions at the expense of higher education institutions.

Furthermore, students will be able to conduct research works on a paid basis by a grant or contract. These measures are expected to contribute to scientific developments of the country.

Academic achievements of students should be kept in mind when they are assigned to conduct research. These assignments should provide them with appropriate opportunities for scientific research with creative approaches.

Students' research works which meet the requirements of training programs can also be accepted as a laboratory or thesis works.

Another innovation that will strengthen the scientific developments of students is creation of scientific student societies (SSC).

These societies will be voluntary social organizations of students studying at various levels of higher education and conducting research, scientific and organizational works.

SSC will work under universities and report to the Scientific Council of the institution.

These societies will also be engaged in attracting students to free and paid works in research centers, industrial parks, incubators of ideas and other enterprises.

Activities of these societies will be financed by a variety of budgetary or extra budgetary funding sources in accordance with the statutes of universities.
