Azerbaijan and Egypt are considering the possibility of launching direct flights.

This issue of direct flights, as well as ways of developing the two countries' cooperation in tourism sphere, was mulled as Azerbaijani ambassador Shahin Abdullayev met governor of the Red Sea province, General Ahmed Abdullah on January 22.

During the meeting, Abdullayev provided detailed information about the rapid development of Azerbaijan, its achievements in all areas, increasing citizens' tourism opportunities, as well as large-scale projects on promoting tourism in the country.

Ahmed Abdullah, in turn, said Egypt attaches great importance to expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres, including tourism.

He added that consultations on this occasion between the relevant governmental authorities have been held, and soon Egyptian high-ranking delegation will visit Azerbaijan.

The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in April, 1992. The legal framework for bilateral cooperation includes 49 documents.
