Due to the tense situation in Egypt, the families of Azerbaijani diplomats and some members of the diaspora were taken out of the country.

For more than a week the Egyptian opposition has been carrying out protests against the government.

Earlier, five ministers of Egyptian government, including Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr resigned.

The command of the Egyptian armed forces has recently made a statement. It demanded that all political forces are to meet the people's requirements within 48 hours. According to the statement, otherwise the country's armed forces intend to announce an 'action map' to overcome the crisis which will be carried out under their supervision.

In turn the Islamists in Egypt urged 'supporters of the law' to participate in street actions. Morsi's office said that Egypt is a civil country and the authorities will not permit plunging the country into the past.

The situation on the Egyptian domestic political scene escalated throughout the country on June 30 after mass protests were held under the 'Tamarrod' motto meaning mutiny against the regime of President Morsi.

The Azerbaijani embassy in Egypt earlier appealed to fellow citizens, who live in this country, urging them to be vigilant and cautious.
