Azerbaijani servicemen, participating in the International Army Games – 2017 left for Kazakhstan, Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported on July 27.

The delegation of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces will participate in the competitions "Sniper line" and "Masters of artillery fire", conducted within the Army Games. The two competitions will be held on August 1-9 at the Otar military base in Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, military cooks of the Azerbaijan Armed Forces arrived in Moscow to participate in the international contest "Field Kitchen."

In the coming days, the teams of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Serbia, Mongolia, Russia and Israel will get instructional advise, get briefed about security measures and the procedure for operating technical equipment, as well as will undergo an in-depth medical check-up for getting access to work with food.

On July 29, military cooks will conduct master classes on preparing national foods.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani tankers took part in the draw of teams and tank crews participating in another competition within the International Army Games – “Tank Biathlon.” As a result of the draw, the Azerbaijani members of tank crew will perform in the first race, which will be held on July 29.

Today, the Azerbaijani Army is one of the strongest, highly-disciplined armies in the world and the leading one in the region. The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan consist of Air Force and Air Defense Forces, the Navy, and the Land Forces.

Azerbaijani Army stands at the 59th place in the world ranking on military strength compiled by a U.S.-based Global Firepower survey center. The national army is equipped with new high-quality weapons.

The army building process is of particular importance for Azerbaijan, as twenty percent of the country's territory is under Armenian occupation and the country is in a state of war with Armenia.
