Mehriban Aliyeva’s dynamic character, concreteness, diligence, humanism, and attachment to the state and people of Azerbaijan give her grounds to make valuable contribution to fulfillment of the tasks set by the Azerbaijani president, mobilizing the work of the government team, for the country’s confident development, added Hasanov.

Mehriban Aliyeva was appointed first vice-president of Azerbaijan upon President Ilham Aliyev’s order on February 21, 2017.

The post of the first vice president was introduced in the country following a constitutional referendum held on September 26, 2016.

Hasanov further stressed that the activity of the Narimanov District organization of YAP was dynamic, and can be regarded as satisfactory.

“The activity of the New Azerbaijan Party as a whole began with the Narimanov district and then spread to other regions,” he said, stressing that the creation of the New Azerbaijan Party was conditioned by the necessity, the situation that existed in Azerbaijan in 1992.

The New Azerbaijan Party was established at the initiative and with active participation of Azerbaijani intellectuals during the period of hardship of the Azerbaijan history, when the country was undergoing serious ordeal.

The conference, which gathered the representatives of all the regions of Azerbaijan, was held November 21, 1992 with national leader Heydar Aliyev presiding at the event. The Constituent Assembly approved the decision on the establishment of the party, the party's program and its statute. Heydar Aliyev was unanimously elected as a chairman of the party. The New Azerbaijan Party was registered by the Justice Ministry on December 18, 1992 and opened its regional branches and cells in all the regions of Azerbaijan within a short period of time.

Hasanov emphasized that the YAP was created and received the status of the party of the present and future of Azerbaijan.

"The main idea of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party is the state and statehood. The YAP put forward the idea of becoming a party of every citizen of Azerbaijan, regardless of language, nation and religion, which has happened," he said.

Hasanov added that the ideas of YAP, the foundation of which was laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev, are now successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. From elections to elections, the number of supporters of President Ilham Aliyev is growing, and the ranks of YAP are expanding.

The conference was attended by Deputy Executive Secretary of YAP, MP Siyavush Novruzov, members of the Narimanov District Organization of YAP, representatives of a number of state structures and deputies.
