President: Georgia highly assesses friendly relations with Azerbaijan

President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has sent a congratulatory letter to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

“It is my pleasure to extend to you my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the Republic Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” said President Margvelashvili in his letter.

“I am pleased to emphasize that regardless various challenges, Azerbaijani people have built successful, independent and prosperous country with its decent place on international arena. As Georgia attaches high importance to the enhancement of friendly relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan, I am convinced that our joint efforts through furthering and enhancing cooperation will deepen and strengthen strategic partnership and centuries-old friendship between our nations,” he noted.

“I would like to extend my gratitude once again for your steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” added the Georgian president. “Your Excellency, please accept the assurances of my highest consideration along with my best wishes for peace, stability and prosperity of the friendly Azerbaijani people.”

Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia also sent a congratulatory letter to President Aliyev.

“I am extremely delighted to emphasize that this year we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Georgia. Over these years, our countries have built good neighborly relations and strong friendship based on mutual understanding and farsighted vision not only for the region, but globally,” the letter reads.

“I wish to see our partnership growing stronger by generating tangible achievements in various fields of cooperation in the years to come.”
