Parliamentary Committee proposes several bills for discussion

The Legal Policy and State-Building Committee of the Azerbaijani Parliament held a meeting on December 5 to discuss several important issues.

The committee discussed some changes to the law on "Violation of legislation on licenses and permits". Under the amendments those who will violate the rules and obligations specified in the law will be fined in the amount of 500-1,000 manats ($284-$569).

Officials who will not perform their duties or will not assist businessmen or will not give them written and verbal explanations to their request will also be fined.

Moreover, there was offered to introduce penalties for violation of the rules of car parking and the illegal use of the mark "invalid".

The violators will be fined in the amount of 40 manats ($22). Drivers who are not fully or partially paid parking fees will be fined in the amount of 10 manats ($5).

For parking in areas designated for disabled vehicles, the amendments stipulate fines in the amount of 10 manats. For parking in excess of 24 hours will be applied a penalty in the amount of 20 manats ($11).

Another draft law proposed to the plenary session of the Parliament was about the activity of taxi drivers.

The draft law prohibits parking outside the specially designated places and stops. Those who will violate this requirement will be fined from 40 to 50 manats.

The Parliament will begin the three-day plenary session starting December 6.

The Parliament will be discus law drafts included in the state budget package of 2017 such as "On State Budget 2017", "About the subsistence minimum in Azerbaijan for 2017", "On the Budget of the State Social Protection Fund of Azerbaijan for 2017", as well as the estimated costs of the Parliament and the Chamber of Accounts for 2017.
