Tony Adams resigns, Former Spurs defender expected to take over
Arsenal legend Tony Adams has resigned as manager of FC Gabala after 18 months in Azerbaijan citing family reasons, london24.com reported.
He is expected to be replaced by his assistant Gary Stevens, the former Tottenham and England defender.
“I came to Gabala with big ambitions, wanting to build a strong club and share experiences”
“It has been an interesting time and hoped that I could achieve something here”
“However, due to family problems, I have to leave the club. It is hard to leave the management and players, but family is more important to me.”
Gabala are currently sixth in the league and have players such as journeyman striker Deon Burton and former Motherwell keeper Graeme Smith.
