Azerbaijan coach Berti Vogts to quit - report
Azerbaijan’s German coach Berti Vogts says he will quit his position at the end of the year, AP reported.
Vogts told the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper on Saturday that he wanted certain conditions written into any new contract but “I know it won’t come to that so I will quit my position.”
The former Germany coach’s contract runs to the end of the year.
Vogts managed eight wins and 10 draws in 40 games with Azerbaijan, which failed to qualify for the 2012 European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.
The 65-year-old German, who has also coached Scotland, Nigeria and Kuwait, said he has “two interesting offers” to coach other national teams.
