Azerbaijan’s AtaHolding signs new sponsorship deal with FILA
BAKU – Azerbaijan’s AtaHolding group of companies signed a sponsorship agreement with the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) for 2013-2017 on Sunday, ahead of the international wrestling congress due in Istanbul.
Under the agreement, signed by AtaHolding board chairman Farid Asadov and FILA president Raphael Martinetti, AtaHolding will sponsor a number of international tournaments, including world and European championships and the Golden Grand Prix devoted to the memory of Azerbaijan’s late national leader, former President Heydar Aliyev.
FILA president Martinetti said the signing of the agreement will promote the development of wrestling in the world.
AtaHolding board chairman Asadov, for his part, said his company’s acting as FILA’s sponsor will contribute to Azerbaijan’s recognition and strengthening of the country’s image in the world. Also, he said, the signing points to rampant economic development ongoing in the country and the vast potential of Azerbaijani companies.
AtaHolding has been FILA’s sponsor since 2008 according to a four-year agreement signed earlier. The federation has since organized a slew of international tournaments, including several competitions held in Azerbaijan.
