Baku among bidders for 2020 Olympic Games
BAKU – The Azerbaijani capital Baku is among the bidders to host the summer Olympics in 2020, according to the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee.
Others bidders are Doha, Istanbul, Madrid, Rome and Tokyo.
The host of the Olympics will be selected at a congress of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to be held in 2013 in Buenos Aires.
Baku has also submitted its candidacy to host the summer Olympics in 2016.
