Kazakh defense chief due in Azerbaijan to watch soccer match
BAKU – Kazakh Defense Minister Adilbek Dzhaksybekov will visit Azerbaijan on September 5-6 to watch a Euro 2012 qualifying match of the two countries’ soccer teams, according to the Azerbaijani embassy in Kazakhstan.
During the visit, Dzhaksybekov, president of Kazakhstan’s football federation, is also due to meet with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev.
The match, which was initially to be played in Azerbaijan’s southern Lankaran region, will take place on September 6 in the capital Baku instead due to hot weather. The Lankaran stadium has become unfit because of scorching heat and cannot be restored in time for the game.
