Iranian guards reportedly kill six Pakistanis
Iranian border guards have reportedly shot dead six Pakistanis and wounded two others after they strayed across Iran’s border, Radio Liberty reported.
Pakistani officials said the incident occurred overnight on January 27 on the Iranian side of the border with Pakistan’s southwestern Baluchistan Province.
It was not immediately clear why the Iranian guards opened fire.
Pakistani officials said efforts were under way to try to contact Iranian authorities to retrieve the bodies of the dead and the two wounded.
Earlier this month, Iranian security personnel allegedly crossed into Baluchistan and killed a Pakistani man.
