Azeri, Turkish and Iranian ministers to meet at border crossing

ANKARA – The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Iran are due to meet at the crossroads of the three countries’ borders soon, Turkish Zaman daily quoted the country’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu as saying.

Davutoglu said the meeting aims to strengthen trilateral cooperation among Baku, Ankara and Tehran.

“We are getting ready to discuss all facets of our relations -- from borderline trade to simplifying border passage regulations. There are border checkpoints between Azerbaijan and Turkey in that area [at the crossroads of the three countries’ borders], and we are holding talks on opening a checkpoint with Iran as well.”

Davutoglu added that Armenia could also join regional projects in the future, but on the condition that it withdraws from the Azerbaijani territories it occupies.
